Culture at ShipBob
ShipBob’s culture is rooted in collaboration, innovation, transparency, and a shared commitment to our merchants’ success and the success of our team members. Because we are solving some of the most difficult challenges in global ecommerce, we expect a lot from each other and have a high degree of shared accountability to ensure our merchants are successful. We celebrate our shared successes, learn from our mistakes, and continuously strive to be a place where our team members can do the most impactful work of their careers.
Radical transparency
Transparency is key to our success and creates an environment where good ideas come from anywhere within the organisation. We want our team members to fully understand what it takes to build a long-lasting global business, and we do this through regular company-wide town halls, all-hands meetings, AMA sessions, and continuous communication.
This way, team members understand our goals and opportunities to improve, and have the chance to engage openly with ShipBob’s leadership team. We believe we all perform better and drive results faster when everyone is armed with clarity on how we’re performing and what matters most to our merchants and our business.

The Culture Committee
The Culture Committee is a group of committed employee volunteers who represent various ShipBob teams to align and collaborate on ways to uphold and enhance our culture. Everyone at ShipBob is welcome to apply to join this group. The committee is involved in the planning of Town Halls and engagement activities, such as Halloween costume contests, ShipBob anniversary week, and other events in coordination with our ERGs.
How we think about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We strive to build a workplace which is safe and accepting, not just through the policies but also through actions. We understand the importance of different perspectives, experiences, and characteristics, including race, gender, sexual identity, socioeconomic background, and more.
We strive for equal opportunity across all levels of the organisation. This means providing opportunities based on merit and potential, and ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard. We want ShipBob to be a workplace that values and respects all people, where people have a sense of belonging regardless of their perspectives, experiences, and characteristics.
EMPLOYEE STORIES
Hear what it’s like working at ShipBob
My technical skills have grown immensely at ShipBob. Both my SQL and Python writing are more efficient, and I am now mindful of how heavily certain queries can impact our database. I went through the process of reviewing our older dashboards & reporting. While updating them, I was immediately hit by how differently I would have approached those reports now. Working with my manager and communicating with our Data team has instilled best practices that are beneficial to our databases.
Cindy Lopez
Sr. Supply Chain Data Analyst
One of my favorite projects was collaborating with Business Development leadership to create a hybrid Business Development Representative (BDR) team. This shift to a hybrid model allowed us to conduct live, in-person training sessions rather than virtually, which had a significant impact. We saw increased engagement, faster skill development, and a growing office environment.
Colleen Sheils
Revenue Enablement Lead
Last year our team’s focus was on helping our merchants have access to a better pool of quality couriers so we can ship orders more efficiently. This involved onboarding and integrating new couriers in different geographies to improve our courier selection. This ultimately had an impact on the end shopper delivery experience and enabled growth for our merchants.
Nikhil Yadav
Group Product Manager – Transportation
An accomplishment I’m most proud of so far is getting promoted to Team Lead. ShipBob helped mold my raw talent into what my sales process is today. ShipBob’s culture is always encouraging us to find time on others’ calendars to pick their brains and learn. I’ve gained extensive product knowledge by connecting with people across the company, asking questions in meetings, doing my own research, and talking to brands. I’m now able to confidently have those discussions and support others on my team.

Working at ShipBob has inspired & motivated me to wake up every morning. Working in a new market (Australia) has been really exciting. We are really helping local Aussie brands and giving them access to our ecosystem, operations and technology so that they too can grow and scale.
