Strategically distribute and place inventory
With ShipBob’s Inventory Placement Program, brands can streamline operations and reclaim time previously spent on manually distributing inventory.
Leveraging your historical order data, ShipBob’s proprietary algorithm automates inventory allocation by calculating the optimal split of inventory across our dozens of fulfilment centres that enables you to meet demand while minimising shipping costs and transit times. From there, brands just need to send products to a single ShipBob receiving hub, and we’ll do the rest.

Lot tracking
The ability to manage items with lot codes and expiration dates is crucial for brands that sell consumable goods, such as pet food, vitamins, treats, and more.
ShipBob’s lot tracking capabilities allow you to instruct us how to separate and store items based on their lot numbers and expiration dates, all configured in ShipBob’s intuitive, easy-to-use dashboard.
We support order prioritization so that orders can be fulfilled in order of the purchase date. Our shipping logic is designed to automatically assign inventory to an order based on the expiration date, ensure items with the nearest expiration date are sent out first.
ShipBob also allows lot product return to sender (RTS) orders to be restocked depending on their minimum shelf life. If a lot product is RTS, ShipBob will inspect each product to ensure it’s unopened and undamaged, review the lot number and expiration date to check it matches the information in your dashboard, upload a photo of the returned item’s lot information, and will automatically restock it if it is safe to do so and if you’ve selected “restock” as your preference.
