We’re excited to announce the opening of our latest European fulfilment centre in the Netherlands. Launching this July, the site will be our fifth location in Europe.
According to ShipBob’s State of Ecommerce Fulfilment Report conducted earlier this year, approximately 37% of ecommerce brands plan to ship to or fulfil from new countries in 2023. With ecommerce sales of USD $730 billion in 2023, the European ecommerce market is highly lucrative.
“As we’ve grown our UK and European business over the last 12 months, the next logical step was a Netherlands-based fulfilment location.
For brands looking to grow their European business, the Netherlands is a great location. Europe’s busiest seaport of Rotterdam is located there, making getting your goods from manufacturers easy.
On the doorstep of mainland Europe’s first and second biggest ecommerce markets of Germany and France, ShipBob customers can easily get their orders to those shoppers in two days or less.”
– Enda Breslin, GM Europe at ShipBob
Ranked as the number one country for ease of doing international business, the Netherlands is a popular European location due to the simplicity of international trade flows. ShipBob has partnered with leading tax and freight management providers to take care of all requirements for merchants who wish to start shipping across Europe.
“We were really excited to hear that ShipBob was opening a Netherlands fulfilment centre, as working with ShipBob has enabled Owl Labs to efficiently ship to global customers.
ShipBob has always been a supportive partner and having our goods in the Netherlands means that our customers will receive their packages quickly.”
– Danielle Brown, Sr. Director of Global Supply
Existing and new ShipBob customers can utilise the Netherlands fulfilment centre (and any other ShipBob fulfilment centres in other countries) through one login, while viewing real-time inventory levels, order information, and shipping details across all physical locations and sales channels. Merchants can pay and view the ShipBob dashboard in local currency (Euro), in addition to utilising local and international couriers including Spring Global, GLS, Deutsche Post, and UPS.
“Being able to constantly offer our customers the choice of new fulfilment locations is a huge benefit for their business. As their sales grow internationally, we’re there to support them in getting closer to their customers.
With our global footprint of 40+ locations, we’re not only reducing those delivery distances and costs, we’re also helping them overcome challenges like Brexit, and cross-border taxes and duties.”
– Enda Breslin, GM Europe at ShipBob
Our Netherlands fulfilment centre will be accepting inventory shortly. For additional information about our European and UK operations, visit https://product.shipbob.com/europe.
