Culture at ShipBob

Here, you’re not a number. No matter your role, you’ll make a significant impact in the growth and success of our customers. We also make time to get to know each other through monthly Town Halls, team building events, and volunteering opportunities. ShipBob is a place where you can grow, stay inspired, and build a career you’re proud of.

Mission-Driven

We work together with a common goal in mind.

Humble

We work hard in silence and allow success to do the talking.

Creative-Problem-Solvers

We see only opportunities, never impossibilities.

Resilient

After the hardest climb comes the best views.

Safety-Minded

It’s not just talk; it’s the way you work.

Our Culture

How we think about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We strive to build a workplace which is safe and accepting, not just through the policies but also through actions. We understand the importance of different perspectives, experiences, and characteristics, including race, gender, sexual identity, socioeconomic background, and more.

We strive for equal opportunity across all levels of the organization. This means providing opportunities based on merit and potential, and ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard. We want ShipBob to be a workplace that values and respects all people, where people have a sense of belonging regardless of their perspectives, experiences, and characteristics.

Our communities

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are employee-led groups formed on the basis of common identities, experiences, or backgrounds. They strive to raise awareness, provide support for positive workplace experiences, and create a safe space for employees by amplifying underrepresented voices and acknowledging social challenges. Our ERGs help foster an inclusive culture and create connections in and outside of ShipBob.

Women’s ERG

This ERG aims to foster an inclusive environment, discuss and create awareness around issues women face in the workplace, provide tools and resources for women to succeed in the workplace, and help coworkers who work with women be better equipped to support them.

Out@ShipBob

This ERG provides educational opportunities and awareness on LGBTQIA experiences that happen in and out of the workplace, build a diverse community by providing opportunities to connect through personal and professional development initiatives, and create a positive, safe space for the Queer community and allies alike.

United ERG

This ERG is a welcoming and inclusive employee group, dedicated to focusing on improving visibility and celebrating our Black, Hispanic, and Latin team members of the ShipBob family.

Suns ERG

SUN’s hope is to share Asian culture, traditions, experiences, and career inspirations and to be positive change makers in our workplace and our communities.

Our Culture

The Culture Committee

The Culture Committee is a group of committed employee volunteers who represent various ShipBob teams to align and collaborate on ways to uphold and enhance our culture. Everyone at ShipBob is welcome to apply to join this group. The committee is involved in the planning of Town Halls and engagement activities, such as Halloween costume contests, ShipBob anniversary week, and other events in coordination with our ERGs.

Colleen Sheils, Revenue Enablement Lead

One of my favorite projects was collaborating with Business Development leadership to create a hybrid Business Development Representative (BDR) team. This shift to a hybrid model allowed us to conduct live, in-person training sessions rather than virtually, which had a significant impact. We saw increased engagement, faster skill development, and a growing office environment.

Nikhil Yadav, Group Product Manager – Transportation

I’m most proud of my work on Section 321 Fulfillment, which is our de-minimis program allowing merchants to ship eligible orders into the US from Canada and Mexico. This solution helps merchants provide a better customer experience & minimize costs associated with import duties and taxes. This was a very complex project involving multiple teams. The fact that I was able to contribute and help solve our merchants’ challenges makes it very fulfilling as a Product Manager.

Maxwell Salberg, Business Development Team Lead – Mid Market Plus

An accomplishment I’m most proud of so far is getting promoted to Team Lead. ShipBob helped mold my raw talent into what my sales process is today. ShipBob’s culture is always encouraging us to find time on others’ calendars to pick their brains and learn. I’ve gained extensive product knowledge by connecting with people across the company, asking questions in meetings, doing my own research, and talking to brands. I’m now able to confidently have those discussions and support others on my team.

Cindy Lopez, Sr. Supply Chain Data Analyst

My technical skills have grown immensely at ShipBob. Both my SQL and Python writing are more efficient, and I am now mindful of how heavily certain queries can impact our database. I went through the process of reviewing our older dashboards & reporting. While updating them, I was immediately hit by how differently I would have approached those reports now. Working with my manager and communicating with our Data team has instilled best practices that are beneficial to our databases.

Vinita Arora, Talent Partner

Seeing the India team grow from 7 to over 350 employees is a proud feeling. As a Talent Partner, I get to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, align with the hiring team at every step, and achieve success in finding the right candidate for the role. It’s such a delightful moment when a new hire joins us and goes on to do remarkable work and contribute to the success of ShipBob.

James Risos, Account Executive – Mid Market

Working at ShipBob has inspired & motivated me to wake up every morning. Working in a new market (Australia) has been really exciting. We are really helping local Aussie brands and giving them access to our ecosystem, operations and technology so that they too can grow and scale.
